Xiamen Railway Station North and South Squares
Xiamen Station, located in Xiamen City, Fujian Province, China, officially opened for use on January 6, 1957. It covers an area of approximately 73,600 square meters, with a station building area of 27,600 square meters. The station's facilities include 5 platforms and 9 arrival/departure tracks. In 2012, Xiamen Station underwent a large-scale renovation and expansion project, which included the reconstruction and expansion of the station building. In 2015, the southern station building and South Square were put into operation. In 2016, the northern station building also began operations. After the expansion, Xiamen Station consists of two station buildings to the north and south, featuring a streamlined appearance resembling the spread wings of a white heron, symbolizing the spirit and face of Xiamen. It is not only an important transportation hub for Xiamen but also a significant window showcasing the city's image.
